Enhancing your gear is easy, fun, and an important part of customizing your racer to make sure you perform at your absolute best!
Enhancement involves taking gems and adding them to your gear in a process called "socketing."
Enhancements increase your character’s attributes and can help you race faster, jump higher and even earn more points from tricks!
Enhancing gear is easy and only takes a few steps:
Ore is a must-have for item enhancement and is available in the following varieties:
Chipped and normal varieties of the above Ores are awarded randomly at the conclusion of all race types.
Pick up Flawless Ores in the Project Powder Pro Shop. You need at least 3 ores of the same type to begin enhancing. Higher quality ore makes better gems, so get the best ore you can!
Refinement Cubes are required for item enhancement. You can buy them at the in-game Magic Shop (available by clicking on the "Mall" button at the bottom of the screen). For your first enhancement, get a Hyper Blue Cube.
Go to your inventory (under "My Info") and click the Gem/Cube tab. Double click the cube to open it.
Choose three ores of the same type and put one inside each of the open slots. Once the cube is full, the “Magic” button will appear. Click it to create your first gem! Gems appear at the bottom of the Refinement Cube window. Double-click the gem to automatically add it to your inventory.
Select your favorite gear (from the in-game Mall or the Project Powder Pro Shop). All items have different sockets and some have more than one. All Pro Shop gear even comes with a bonus +11 in every slot! Slots are color-coded, so look for gear with a slot matching the gem you just created. Make sure you are not wearing the gear you want to enhance.
In your Gem/Cube inventory, left click your gem to pick it up. Left click the "Item Inventory" tab to view your gear. Left click again on the item you wish to enhance; you should see a "Gear Was Successfully Enhanced" message. Gear with multiple sockets can be enhanced with multiple gems.
Once you create a gem, you can upgrade it! Gems are available in 7 phases and three qualities (chipped, normal, and flawless). Higher phases and qualities award bigger bonuses. Use magic cubes to refine your gems and take them to the next level. Keep upgrading phases to get a bigger bonus from each gem using the following cubes from the Magic Shop:
If you want to change the gems on an enhanced item, unequip the item, select it in your inventory and click the gavel icon with the word “Unenhance”. All gems will be destroyed and can be replaced with new ones.
